About me

Hi, I’m Aliya! I’m a 16-year-old performer from Saint Paul, Minnesota, and theater has been one of the most important parts of my life for the past 8 years. My journey started when I was just 8 years old. I wasn’t even planning to audition for my school musical, The Magic Clubhouse. But when the director called for all the kids auditioning to head into another room, something in me decided to just go for it. I made a last-minute decision to try it out—and it completely changed my life. I ended up getting one of the main roles, and I was so excited when I found out I had the most lines in the entire show. That first experience on stage made me realize how much I loved performing.

That summer, I signed up for a Guthrie Theater summer camp, not knowing just how big of an impact it would have on me. I absolutely loved it and have gone back every summer since 2017. The Guthrie became a second home for me, and it helped deepen my love for theater and performance. Since then, I’ve been training consistently in musical theater, focusing on acting, singing, and dance.

Right now, I’m a student at the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists (SPCPA), where I continue to grow every day as a performer and artist. Outside of school, I’ve been part of both professional theater productions and school shows, and I approach every project with passion, focus, and a strong work ethic.

Theater has shaped who I am. It’s where I feel most confident, most inspired, and most myself. I love telling stories, connecting with people through performance, and being part of something creative and meaningful. I’m so excited to keep learning, growing, and discovering what comes next in my journey.
